Melbourne Fashion Week (M/FW) returns from 20 to 26 October 2025, filling the city with runways, exhibitions, industry talks, fashion moments and creative experiences that celebrate style, sustainability and inclusivity.
This year’s theme, Come As You Are, invites everyone to join a citywide celebration of self-expression, community and creativity that continues to define Melbourne as Australia’s fashion capital.

The 2025 programme will feature six premium runways at standout locations across the city

Together, these venues showcase the city’s blend of heritage, design and innovation, creating the backdrop for some of the season’s most striking runway moments.
What’s On
This year’s M/FW offers more than 100 free and ticketed events across the city, involving over 600 participating designers and retailers.
The event supports more than 1,000 jobs across the industry – from designers and stylists to models, beauty professionals and production crews – and remains one of Melbourne’s largest creative showcases.
Highlights include
- Six major runway shows featuring Melbourne’s leading and emerging talent
- Five Fashion Capsule exhibitions displaying work by more than 30 local designers, stylists and artisans
- Over 40 independent experiences including pop-up regenerative stores, vintage runways, retail events, fashion markets, open studios and light projections
- M/FW Conversations, a returning series of thought-provoking industry discussions covering topics such as the business of fashion and the future of inclusivity

Runways will showcase a mix of emerging, independent and established designers, with continued focus on sustainability, inclusivity and the celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

More than 85 per cent of designers, stylists, models and retailers are Melbourne-based, ensuring the event continues to champion home-grown talent.
Special Exhibition at Fed Square
From 13 October, visitors can experience an Australian-first exhibition at Fed Square, celebrating the artistry of Oscar-winning designer Paul Tazewell, who created the iconic costumes for Wicked Part 1 and the upcoming Wicked For Good.
The free showcase reveals the craftsmanship behind Elphaba and Glinda’s costumes and offers a rare opportunity to see the detail and creativity of Tazewell’s work up close, ahead of the film’s release in cinemas on 20 November.

Sustainability and Carbon Neutral Commitment
M/FW 2025 will again be carbon neutral certified under the Australian Government’s Climate Active Programme, continuing its strong commitment to environmental responsibility.
$1 from every ticket sale for M/FW-produced events will go towards carbon offset projects.
